Executive Coaching
Our Approach to Coaching
At Real World Group, we believe coaching should be as individual as the person receiving it. That’s why we don’t take a one-size-fits-all approach.
Each coaching relationship is shaped around the unique needs, goals, and working style of the individual leader. Our priority is to ensure the best possible fit between coach and coachee so that meaningful progress can be made and sustained.
Whether stepping into a new role, navigating complex change, or aiming to elevate your leadership to the next level, our coaching provides a structured yet flexible space to reflect, experiment, and grow. We focus on developing leadership that is inclusive, authentic, and aligned with values, so the benefits extend far beyond the individual to the wider organisation.
Coach Requirements
Our coaches bring senior-level expertise and a deep understanding of the pressures faced by senior leaders and all meet the following criteria:
- Hold a Level 7 Diploma in Executive Coaching (or equivalent)
- Are accredited with professional bodies such as the Association for Coaching, EMCC and the International Coaching Federation (ICF)
- Adhere to the ICF Code of Ethics
- Have extensive experience coaching senior leaders across multiple sectors and organisations
Mark Powell, RWG’s Head of Consultancy oversees all coaches and is responsible for coach quality assurance, evaluation and will have regular catch ups with the assigned coach. Finally, if we are engaging with you as an organisation to provide coaches for a cohort of leaders, Mark will partner with you and lead a briefing with the coach pool to ensure your unique context and challenges are understood.
Our Coaching Process
We use a five-stage approach to ensure the right coach, the right support, and the right outcomes:
1. Select a Coach
You’ll choose from our pool of carefully selected executive coaches. Each comes with a full biography including:
- Coaching approach and areas of expertise
- Professional background and qualifications
- Memberships with relevant coaching bodies
2. Chemistry Call
We’ll arrange a no-obligation chemistry call with your preferred coach to explore fit and comfort. If either party feels a different match would work better, we’ll facilitate further options until the right connection is found.
3. Starting the Journey
Once the match is confirmed, your coach will explore your goals, expectations, and any previous development experience to shape a purposeful and relevant coaching journey. At this stage we may also involve your manager or sponsor (context dependent) to ensure expectations are aligned, in addition a behavioural measure such as 360 feedback or a personality questionnaire can be administered to help provide insight into your current reality (as appropriate).
4. Quality Assurance
All of our coaches are subject to quality reviews. Any issues are addressed promptly and professionally, ensuring our high standards are always maintained.
5. Ongoing Review & Impact
Coachees arrange subsequent sessions directly with their coach. Progress is reviewed regularly against goals set at the outset. At each session, your coach will check that the relationship remains valuable and aligned. We also carry out a midpoint and end-of-programme evaluation to assess overall effectiveness and impact (again, this could involve your manager/sponsor as appropriate).
Every leader’s development journey is different. Our coaching approach ensures it’s one that delivers lasting value, for the individual, their team, and the wider organisation.
Evaluation and Reporting
At Real World Group we start with the end in mind, and we will work with you to gain agreement on the appropriate evaluation strategy and measures to be used, aligned to your context.
We will work with you to co-design an effective evaluation process, this might include:
- Pre- and post-programme self-assessment or 360 degree feedback to measure shifts in behaviour, confidence or capability
- Surveys to gather insight into coachee perceptions of coach impact and professionalism
For a cohort of leaders we will provide aggregate, anonymous themes to support broader organisational learning (if desired), with regular review meetings. The Evaluation will be progressed as a value add, non-costed deliverable.
